Explosion-Protected Encoders

Safe explosion protection through ATEX-compliant housing

TR Electronic has been a leading partner and accredited manufacturer of encoders in the field of explosion protection for over a decade. With ATEX-compliant housings for absolute encoders, absolute encoders with rope length encoders as well as SIL3-/PLe-certified encoders, you are also on the safe side in hazardous areas.

Our ATEX devices comply with all necessary directives.

Depending on the risk, areas with potentially explosive atmospheres are divided into different zones. Basically, a distinction is made between gases, vapors and mists on the one hand and dusts on the other. A further classification is based on the frequency or probability that an ignitable atmosphere exists.

For dusts, TR-Electronic supports zones 22 (non-pressure-safe enclosed equipment) and 21 (pressure-safe enclosed equipment), for gases, vapors and mists, zones 2 and 1. Equipment for zone 1/21 can also be used in zone 2/22.
