The encoTRive product family from TR Electronic stands for intelligent, decentralized drive solutions that combine motor, power electronics, control, and position detection in a compact housing. With supply voltages from 24 to 48 V and support for modern fieldbus systems such as EtherCAT, Profinet, Profibus, and CANopen, control and positioning tasks can be carried out efficiently and in a space-saving manner—without any control cabinet load or EMC-critical motor cables.
Compact, powerful, and versatile
The compact drive concept offers numerous advantages:
- Absolute position available at all times – thanks to battery-free multiturn gearing, no reference runs are necessary.
- Simple cabling and touchable components – thanks to low voltage and integrated electronics.
- Flexible motor and gear variants – from brush-type to electronically commutated, with or without holding brake.

New perspectives with EtherCAT NC
With the latest expansion for EtherCAT NC functions, TR Electronic is taking a decisive step forward: encoTRive drives can now be integrated into the EtherCAT world in a manufacturer-neutral manner. The drive only controls the speed, while position control is handled entirely by EtherCAT and the controller. This architecture enables very fast and convenient integration into the control environment.
Actuator remains actuator – with more convenience
Despite the expanded functionality, encoTRive still offers the option of completely internal position control, but integration into EtherCAT NC makes it much easier for the user: On the control side, the actuator behaves exactly in line with the NC technology functions, which simplifies project planning and speeds up commissioning.
With this innovation, TR Electronic once again underlines its claim to combine technological innovation with practical application – for greater efficiency, flexibility, and future-proofing in automation.
