Even "more secure" in absolute encoders
TR Electronic supplies new version of SIL encoder with PROFInet
As a specialist in technically complex encoder solutions with a strong customer focus, TR Electronic has been one of the pioneers in SIL-certified encoders for many years. The latest standards and technical developments are incorporated into the product portfolio in all product areas, while at the same time expanding the possible areas of application and control systems.
The compact CD_582 absolute encoders with functional safety from TR Electronic, which have just been certified by Profibus International (PNO), offer a range of new and enhanced features. The implementation of the latest versions of the protocol stacks on state-of-the-art hardware components ensures future-proof availability.
PROFINET Security Class 1 embeds the latest security mechanisms in the PROFINET protocol and protects the individual components and the GDSML file from unauthorized access. This increases communication availability and supports a robust connection between the end device and the controller.
The CD_582+FS encoders with PROFINET benefit from system redundancy level S2 and the possibilities offered by "H" controllers: The encoder has active connections to both instances of the safe controller at the same time, so that if there are problems in one instance, operation can be maintained seamlessly by the other instance. This increases the availability of the entire system while ensuring functional safety.
The PROFIdrive protocol family facilitates manufacturer-independent access to various components of a drive train and ensures interoperability between products from different sources. TR's safe encoders offer the latest version 4.2 of the encoder profile and thus integrate perfectly into the drive technology world of Siemens and other PROFIdrive version 4.2-compatible components.
In addition to the latest version of the PROFIdrive protocol, other protocols are available, including individually configurable TR-specific protocols.
With the new version of the CD_582+FS, addressing type 2 is also implemented in the encoder. Here, both the source and target addresses contribute to the overall address. This means that the target address only has to be unique within the CPU and no longer across the entire network.
In addition to these protocol-specific enhancements for PROFINET/PROFIsafe, the latest generation also offers new, secure measured values. The new version also generates a safe actual acceleration value (SAV according to IEC61800-5-3) and forwards it to the corresponding F module via the secure channel ( ). This allows brake processes in particular to be monitored without having to calculate an acceleration value in the controller.
Despite all the enhancements, the latest version of the CD_582+FS PROFINET remains compatible with existing applications, meaning that other encoder profiles are still available and can be used for secure transmissions.
The compact CD_582+FS safety encoders are mechanically based on the successful Generation 2 of TR's absolute encoders. Solid shafts, blind shafts, and through hollow shafts with various diameters are available as standard. The positive locking from the customer shaft to the scanning, as well as the redundantly designed multiturn gear, meet the high requirements for functions that must comply with the SIL3 or PLe safety standard.
The latest generation of the CD_582+FS with PROFINET PROFIsafe also allows users to seamlessly integrate the encoders into their systems and ensures the future availability of their safe drive functions.
